Groan Rangers for U19s
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Not the best of weekends for our youth teams in the FA Premier Academy League.
The Under-17s threw away the chance of a win that manager Jimmy Neighbour (pictured) admitted they hardly deserved against Watford while the Under-19s, in boss Pat Holland’s words, ‘fell apart’ in the second half of a 4-1 defeat against QPR.
John Sutton’s amazing run of form in front of goal continued for the Under-17s as he firstly turned in Walter Thomas’ cross for the opener and then followed up Mario Noto’s shot for a 2-0 advantage.
It looked like Spurs might pinch the points but Watford reduced the arrears with five minutes left with a 30-yard piledriver before being awarded a dubious penalty in the last minute to level the scores.
Boss Jimmy said: “We didn’t deserve to win. We lacked concentration and it was disappointing after the way we’ve played recently.”
Under-19’s boss Pat was left scratching his head after his side lost 4-1 against QPR. Lee Barnard put Spurs 1-0 up with his second goal in successive games, heading home Yannick Kamanan’s cross and that was the score at the break.
The second half was a different story thought as Rangers ran in four goals without reply. “We actually played well in the first half but then collapsed defensively,” said Pat. “They got behind us and deserved to win.”
