Great spirit among keepers - Hugo

Thu 28 August 2014, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

All is well in the Spurs branch of the goalkeepers’ union, according to Hugo Lloris!

Our French international stopper has spoken about the strong spirit among our glovemen, with competition for places all over the squad keeping everyone at the very top of their game.

Michel Vorm became the latest keeper to join us when he arrived from Premier League rivals Swansea City this summer, while Brad Friedel was solid as ever during our pre-season friendly programme.

Young stopper Luke McGee also trains regularly with the first team, while Jordan Archer is currently plying his trade on loan at Northampton Town.

Hugo insists the strength in depth we have in the goalkeeping department is a good thing as we look to build on our positive start to the 2014-15 campaign.

“With Brad, Luke McGee and now with Michel and I, we all try to do our best every day,” said the 27-year-old.

“We work closely with Toni Jimenez, our Goalkeeping Coach, to try to improve and to perform well for the team.”
