Grasping the nettle
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Chris Hughton believes both Dean Marney and Mark Yeates have the desire to succeed at Spurs - but it's now about grasping their chances.
Dean made a huge impact on his full home debut with a stunning two-goal display in the 5-2 win against Everton on New Year's Day.
Seven days later and Irish imp Mark showed what he's all about in a 15-minute cameo of tricks, turns and wing play against Brighton in the FA Cup.
They are the latest off our Academy production line to step into the first team spotlight this season alongside Phil Ifil and Stephen Kelly.
Chris, who coached both at reserve level, said: "Dean has actually been around for a while. For a lot of people looking at the Everton game, the name would have been a surprise but he's been here since he was about 10 and he's been in squads for the last couple of seasons.
"Sometimes you need a bit of fortune, a game that will go right for you and apart from the goals he scored, his contribution to that game was excellent.
"He then went to Old Trafford and did well against Roy Keane.
"He has confidence, he's played a couple of games and now he has to want it on a regular basis. That's what we're asking of him.
"It's the same with all young players who play a part in the side including Mark, who made his debut at the end of last season and did well in that game at Wolves.
"They both have a desire to be in the squad and the confidence as well and it's now about taking opportunities and maintaining standards."
