GOTS - the skipper's view

Sun 18 May 2014, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

The skipper has had his say on our Goal of the Season - and Michael Dawson admitted it was a tough choice before going for Sandro's belter against United at the Lane in December.

The Brazilian midfielder twisted and turned away from Tom Cleverley before lashing the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

Sandro's strike has already won the Supporters Clubs Goal of the Season award - but he faces competition from Gylfi Sigurdsson's belter against Hull in the Capital One Cup in the voting so far at tottenhamhotspur.com/GOTS and across social media.

"The goal that really jumps out has got be Sandro against United at White Hart Lane," said Michael.

"They way he struck it and the way the ball moved away and flew into the top corner. To see the Beast score a goal like that was great!

"There have been others, another that jumps out is Gylfi Sigurdsson in the League Cup against Hull, when he smashed it home, a great goal. Nacer Chadli’s at Newcastle as well, when he bent it into the top corner.

"There have been some good team goals as well but if I had to pick one, it’s got to be Sandro. It was a special strike."
