Gorman on Leeds

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman insists we will try to impose ourselves on table-topping Leeds United when we travel to Elland Road for Sunday's Premiership cracker.

David O'Leary's men are unbeaten after 10 league games and have yet to concede a goal on home turf.

But after impressive displays at the likes of Liverpool, Sunderland and Newcastle United on our travels so far - and wins at the daunting north-east venues - assistant boss John believes we will go to Yorkshire without fear.

"We have to impose ourselves on them," declared John. "We can't go there and sit back for 90 minutes because eventually they will wear you down.

"You have to go there and be positive and every opportunity we have to go forward we have to take.

"The way we're playing and the confidence in the team, the quality in the team, perhaps Leeds might be a bit wary of us as well.

"It will work both ways. I'm sure they will be looking at us and how we play - how Gus Poyet plays, Teddy coming off, they have a lot to worry about as well.

"We're up for it. We feel we can go there in a positive frame of mind and know we've got a chance to win the match.

"They have quality players and they are flying high but we feel we can go up there and battle against them. We're full of confidence and really looking forward to it."

Leeds are seen as Manchester United's biggest title rivals. So what did John see as their strengths? "The style of football they play is very positive," he pointed out. "And they work hard for each other.

"They are built on a solid defence, I don't think they've conceded a league goal at home, they have a very good goalkeeper and obviously in Rio Ferdinand, a player I rate very highly, they have a player who is good on the ball and good defensively.

"They are solid and you know how they are going to play. In midfield they work hard, Bowyer gets into the box from wide positions, always a threat and up front, Harry Kewell is another talented individual who will always give teams problems.

"You've got stop him playing and give him the problems when we've got the ball, make him work backwards.

"It's a big game for us and will show us how well we're doing. We've had four good wins, Tranmere to begin with, two at home, two away and we'll go there positive but we know it's going to be a big match."
