Gorman on Fab save
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
While Kasey Keller rightly received most of the plaudits for his superb display at Old Trafford, John Gorman pointed out that it was a Fabien Barthez save that probably dictated the outcome of the match.
Spurs were enjoying a passage of play that had Manchester United planted firmly on the back foot when Steffen Iversen smartly headed back across goal into the direction of Dean Richards.
The big centre half took aim, Old Trafford held its collective breath followed by a huge sigh of relief as the French keeper blocked Deano's point blank effort.
Shortly afterwards, following referee Rob Styles refusal of a penalty for a Gary Doherty challenge on van Nistelrooy, home discontent was still ringing around the ground when a Doherty challenge on Solskjaer brought the much craved for spot kick.
It seemed the only way Kasey was going to surrender his clean sheet and John was quick to praise the American keeper afterwards. But don't forget the Barthez one was the message from the assistant boss.
"Barthez pulled off a big save as well, didn't he? From Deano, and we were entitled to think we were going to score there.
"It was a reaction shot, from about four yards out or whatever, and we could have gone in front," reasoned John before turning to Kasey.
"He's played like that all season, to be fair to him. He is playing absolutely terrific, has been marvellous and made a great save from van Nistelrooy."
