Gorman focused on three points

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman is well aware of the hot reception awaiting him, Glenn Hoddle and Dean Richards at Southampton but insists: "We just want the three points."

The home crowd are expected to give assistant boss John and Glenn a bit of stick after they left Southampton for the Lane last April. Defender Dean joined them here in September.

"I think there might be a few extra boos down there," said John. "It's going to be focussed on the three of us, Deano as well, Glenn in-particular and myself as well.

"At least Darren Anderton won't get booed like he normally does being an ex-Pompey player. We've deflected that attention off him!

"Seriously though, I got on really well with the Southampton crowd, had a wonderful relationship with them and it would be nice if they realise it's just part of football.

"We're both playing against our old team and of course we want to do well against them but we just want the three points.

"We were disappointed on Saturday and we want to make up for it at Southampton.

"We know it will be tough and that Southampton will be right up for it. It will be an added incentive for them and there will be more on this game for them. The fans will want to win the game, for sure."

John reiterated Glenn's recent thoughts that the strength of the side of late has been the ability to bounce back from adversity.

After suffering Saturday's defeat against Ipswich Town and the manner of it - dominating after losing Teddy Sheringham to a red card, then losing to a late goal - this would be the perfect boost.

John added: "We have to make sure we bounce back and this gives us the opportunity to do it straight away.

"We played well in the second half on Saturday and you have to look postively at that."
