Goran on Charlton test

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Goran Bunjevcevic is well aware that White Hart Lane has been a happy hunting ground for Charlton Athletic in the last few seasons.

Looking ahead to Saturday's encounter with Alan Curbishley's side, the versatile Serbian recalled that the Addicks have reaped seven points from their last three visits to the Lane.

Two out of the three have been classic smash and grab raids that finished 1-0 in their favour, while the middle one saw us claw our way back to 2-2 after being two goals down.

Even though Charlton appear to be a bit out of sorts, without a win in four Premiership games and eliminated from the Carling Cup by Crystal Palace, Goran insists an easy game to get our own league campaign back on track is never likely to be on the cards against the Valley outfit.

"That's right, especially with Charlton as we have lost a couple of games against them at White Hart Lane in the last few seasons," reflected the player who has scored two goals in two Carling Cup outings for the team in recent weeks.

"We had pretty much dominated two of the games but they have gone into our half near the end and scored. That is going to change this time.

"For the Fulham game, I was tired and I think some of the other lads were after the extra time against Bolton. Fulham took their chances and we didn't play well.

"With a win against Charlton we can go into the Arsenal game with confidence, which is very important for the supporters."

Despite their hiccup in form, Goran feels that Charlton's work ethic that has served them so well over the years will not have left them.

"It is true, they always work hard. This year they have changed their shape a little bit and bought in some new players, but they always still work hard.

"They are struggling a little bit this year, I think they might be missing Jensen and Di Canio played a big part last season.

"We have to win the game, in the Premiership if you don't win the games at home you will struggle later. We can change things with a win against Charlton going into the games against Burnley and Arsenal."
