Goran in the middle

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn was happy with the performance of Goran Bunjevcevic in a slightly unfamiliar midfield holding role against Lazio, one the boss handed him to correct an imbalance in the middle of the team.

Goran featured in front of the back four against the Italians and Glenn said he tried the stylish centre-half in that position due to the absence of Steffen Freund and Stephen Clemence.

"Goran is a terrific player, he just gets on with his job and does it economically," reflected Glenn. "He keeps the ball and is a calm influence on the pitch and the same in possession.

"We've look imbalanced in midfield because there is no Steffen Freund, no Stephen Clemence, meaning an overload on our back three or four, whatever we've played.

"We've looked at Goran in there to see if we can balance it out and, in many respects, it was good.

"When we got stretched as a team, not down to Goran, they started to make good movement and caused us problems. We can nullify that by dropping off deeper from our front two, which we did in the first 30 minutes and it helped us with the ball."

Glenn can take many positives from the performance, but he was not happy with the way Lazio's second goal was conceded.

"There were a lot of things to learn from that game. One thing I'm not happy about is the second goal, it was dreadful and we nearly did it again from a throw-in on the other side.

"So again you have to learn lessons and if anything like that happens again this season we'll not be doing our jobs as players and coaches - we can't afford to let that happen again."
