Goran aims high
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Goran Bunjevcevic is setting his sights on the Champions League. Our summer recruit from Yugoslavia is taking the first steps in his new footballing world after arriving at Spurs Lodge on Monday following his £1.4million switch from Red Star Belgrade.
And the defender is aiming high. “I’m pleased to be here and I hope my game will be all right and everything goes well because Spurs are a great club and they deserve to be at the top of the league,” he said.
“We are hoping to get Spurs back to the place where they were before.
“It will be very difficult because some of the clubs in England have great players, like Manchester, Chelsea and other clubs, they also have great experience.
“But Tottenham must work from year to year and in two or three years I believe with these people leading the club now, these trainers and these players that we can progress and hopefully get into the Champions League. I’m sure we have the potential for that.”
The Yugoslav international is also ready for a drastic change of style in the Premiership.
“It will be very difficult for me at first,” he admitted. “This is not a style of football like in Europe because it is very physical but I’m hoping my qualities will help me in this football.
“I am a very ambitious guy and I want to see how I can play, to give my best and be part of the team.”
