Good to be back
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Sean Davis was delighted to get his first start since October against Liverpool at the weekend and is looking forward to more of the same against West Brom on Wednesday.
The midfielder has been fit and raring to go for a while now following knee surgery, but the form of midfield combination Brown and Carrick saw to it that he had to be patient and wait for starting duties. He did, however, enjoy lengthy run outs against Birmingham and Newcastle before injury to Brown offered him the chance to step out from the off at Anfield.
"It was obviously my first start since October and it was good to be back," considered the 25-year-old at Spurs Lodge. "Liverpool away was a good one to come back in and I enjoyed the match thoroughly.
"There were two of us starting our first for a while - me and Dawsie - although I have been involved for a few weeks, unlike Daws. It was just good to finally get that start and get a point from a game we needed to get something from.
"I thought we started well, possession wise, in the first 25 minutes without maybe producing that cutting edge at the end. When you to places like Liverpool you are going to concede possession at certain times and I think we defended well. We limited their chances and came out with a vital point."
It was always going to be a tough afternoon's work for Sean and Michael Carrick up against the Liverpool central midfield pairing of Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard.
"It was a strange one, we had a little bit of a problem because Alonso was dropping so deep and couldn't get too tight to him," added Sean. "Gerrard was just here, there and everywhere.
"We did well when we had the ball, worked our socks off and managed quite well."
Looking back on the moment of the match, Sean concedes he did not initially suspect Erik Edman's shoot-on-sight policy would pay such dividends.
"I was hoping he wasn't going to shoot because it was so far out, but everyone is now happy he did. He has taken a bit of stick with everyone asking him if he meant it, but it was a great strike that he probably won't be able to do again."
