Good news on Les

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle has allayed fears that Les Ferdinand will be missing for three weeks with an ankle injury.

The striker picked up the injury at Ipswich on Saturday amid fears that he had also aggravated his Achilles, something that would have forced him out of the vital period of games coming up and the home clash against his former club Newcastle.

Les was back at Spurs Lodge today with an optimistic outlook over his prospects and, although Wednesday's FA Cup third round trip to Coventry looks unlikely, it has not been ruled out.

"Les has settled down a little," said Glenn on Monday afternoon. "But it looks like Wednesday will come around too quickly for him. Saying that, it's not as bad as we first thought. We thought it might be three weeks, but we'll see how he progresses this week."

Glenn is still waiting for confirmation as to the extent of the knee injury suffered by Christian Ziege - also sustained at Portman Road.

"Christian is seeing a specialist," said Glenn. "And having scans done on his knee. We are waiting for the assessments from the specialist.

"We'll know more in the next couple of days."

With these latest setbacks coming on top of Steffen Freund's cruciate blow, Glenn could be without four first team regulars for the trip to Highfield Road. Teddy serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

Glenn added: "It's testing the squad and we all have to pull together, work harder and make sure we become more resilient and get the results during this period when the full squad isn't there."

Check back on Tuesday for Coventry previews, including views from Glenn, Ledley and Gus.
