The achievements of some of our greatest goalscorers from the past quarter of a century have been recognised as part of the Premier League’s 25-year celebrations this week.
We have five former players amongst an illustrious group of players that have scored 100 Premier League goals since its inception in 1992 - Les Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe, Teddy Sheringham, Robbie Keane and Darren Bent.
Les and Jermain were amongst those present at a star-studded event in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity this week, also attended by fellow Spurs greats such as Ledley King, Gary Mabbutt and Clive Allen.
Many of the league’s best ever goals were showcased on the night, including Robbie’s unforgettable solo effort against Blackburn at the Lane in 2006 and Jermain’s famous five goals in one game against Wigan in 2009.
