Goal of the Season

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We'll be asking for your votes for our goal of the season later this week - here are goals G and H in the 10-goal countdown...

On Friday, all 10 goals will go to our poll page with the top five then highlighted on our video service THTV.

Continuing the countdown...

G: Jermain Defoe v Portsmouth, White Hart Lane, Saturday February 7

The goal: What a debut! After 12 minutes, play was broken up in midfield, Ledley King found Robbie Keane who in turn spotted Jermain pull away right-side of area. He controlled and hit an instant shot low across Hislop into bottom corner from 16 yards.

He said: "It is all I wanted to do, I didn't even sleep last night as all I was thinking about was scoring here. It happened for me."

H: Johnnie Jackson v Charlton, The Valley, Wednesday February 11

The goal: After Charlton had come back from 3-0 down to 3-2, Jacko made sure there were no nightmares after what happened against City. Picking the ball up from Ledley King with five minutes left, the midfielder strode forward before hitting a rasper from 30 yards.

He said: "It's beautiful, the best feeling I've had in football. It was the last goal, basically the one that killed the game off because we were coming under a bit of pressure and they were pumping balls into our area. It was such a relief when it went in, then there was the personal satisfaction of me getting my first senior goal. Being at the end where all the Spurs fans were made it even better - it was just a brilliant night."
