Glenn's hopes for Jamie
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle admits that it was a frustration to lose Jamie Redknapp for the second half of last season - but expects big things from the midfielder this time around.
Jamie suffered a broken bone in his foot in early December and a promising campaign was put on hold before he was fit to return for the final two games.
He is now fit and raring to go, having trained hard in La Manga and played a part in two of the pre-season games - a cold that kept him out of the Norwich game last Tuesday did not prevent him travelling to South Africa.
"Jamie is a seasoned professional and it was a frustrating time to lose him at the back end of last season," reflected Glenn.
"It was a freak injury really, a break in a very small bone on the base of his foot. It wasn't related to his past injuries.
"I think Jamie will have a good season for us. He needs to get a good pre-season under his belt. He came in earlier than expected last season because of injuries, had his opportunity early on and did very well for us.
"Looking at him this pre-season, he looks nice and sharp and most importantly injury-free. We'll keep our fingers crossed and hope that continues."
