Glenn's hope for defensive duo
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle has high hopes for the central defensive partnership between Dean Richards and Ledley King.
The pair were outstanding in a 4-4-2 formation in Saturday's 1-0 win at Aston Villa.
Injuries have hit the manager's defensive plans all season - Dean returned from a knee injury at Villa Park and Ledley, Anthony Gardner, Gary Doherty, Steve Carr and Christian Ziege have all been out for spells - but he's now hoping that will change.
"No disrespect to anyone who has been playing but Deano, the big fella, was excellent for us, especially with Dion Dublin's threat," said Glenn.
"Dion's a fantastic aerial threat and can dominate centre-halves if you give him a chance but Deano played him very well and kept him quiet.
"Meanwhile Ledley off Deano, in and around him, picked up a lot of pieces and that looked a nice combination.
"We talk about striking partnerships but sometimes it's defensive partnerships as well that can develop and you can see that happening.
"We've had to chop and change and it's been like that in the two years I've been here.
"Whether we've wanted to play a back three or back four we've never had any continuity but hopefully that will change now."
