We are pleased to announce that the late Glenn Weaver, former Chairman of Spurs Ladies, has won a posthumous FA Community Award for his outstanding contribution to community football.
The National FA Community Awards ceremony took place at Wembley Stadium and there to collect The People’s Award for Glenn was Spurs Ladies Club Secretary, June Clarke, who said: “We are so happy to collect this award for Glenn. This is the ultimate thank you for all the hard work he has done over the years. He was all about helping and being there for others and today the attention is on him. Glenn, thank you and congratulations.”
The FA Community Awards recognise and reward people across the country who make a difference to grassroots football in their community – those like Glenn who dedicate their lives to developing the next generation of footballing talent.
Glenn worked tirelessly with Spurs Ladies from the very beginning when the club was formed as Broxbourne Ladies in 1985 before becoming Tottenham Hotspur Ladies in 1991.
As the club continued to grow, he played an integral role behind the scenes to help Spurs Ladies to where they are today.
Glenn sadly passed away suddenly on February 19, 2015.
