Glenn returns to Robins' nest

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle is looking forward to returning to Swindon Town for Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly — admitting that he owes the club ‘quite a lot’.

He began his managerial career at the Wiltshire club in 1991 and guided them into the Premiership before leaving for Chelsea in 1993.

Glenn now returns to the County Ground as manager of Tottenham for our second pre-season friendly.

He said: “I’ve been back there as Chelsea manager and Southampton manager and it is always nice to go back.

“Hopefully they will get a good crowd and let’s see if we can help them out financially a little. It’s always nice to go back to the County Ground.

“I had a wonderful couple of years there. I cut my teeth there if you like, nursed my way into football management, so I owe Swindon Town quite a lot.

“There is always a nice welcome there, probably apart from when I went back as Chelsea manager, but that’s football!”

Glenn suggested that he would stick with the same format as Stevenage on Friday when he used a different team in each half. Stephen Carr, Luke Young and Oyvind Leonhardsen have been added to that squad.

He added: “We will stick with the same sort of system we had at Stevenage because we are stepping up a little. I don’t want to take chances so we will look to play two sides again.”
