Glenn on Leeds test

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle joked that it is somewhat typical that we are set to travel to Leeds on the back of a thumping win for the home side.

It is likely to be quite an occasion at Elland Road, not only will the club be boosted by such a resounding victory, it is also new manager Peter Reid's first home game.

"It's ironic - it's the luck we have a little bit," laughed the boss. "It is Reidy's first home game against us and they've just won 6-1.

"A lot of teams have been there this season when they've been having a dreadful run and the atmosphere wasn't right. They've now had a change of chairman, a change of manager and a change of results."

However, Glenn does feel that the fact Leeds will be lifted by last weekend's win will not necessarily work against us - given that the team ended a three-match losing streak themselves against Birmingham.

"We're up against it, but I think we've got to look at ourselves and say that we've broken that string of results that we've had and I believe that, perhaps, one swallow doesn't make a summer and there is still a bit of pressure on them.

"They might think they've turned the corner and rightly so, it was a wonderful result. I've always felt that Leeds have got terrific players even though they've had to sell a lot - they've still got a lot of talented players and a base to go from," added Glenn, who will catch up with a former England teammate at Elland Road.

"For me, personally, it's good to see Peter back in the game. I played with him for England, he is a character and we've always got on very well.

"He was great to play with, I felt we complimented each other as players very much and he was always a tough one to play against.

"It's nice to see him back in football."
