Glenn on course
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn wore the look of a satisfied manager after the 2-0 victory over Reading kept our pre-season bandwagon firmly on track.
The boss put his starting X1 through the full 90 minutes and the team responded with a display full of movement, neat passing, plenty of openings and defensive solidity.
Report: Reading 0-2 Spurs
"It was good workout for us," said Glenn. "An ideal game for us and a fantastic crowd.
"Their keeper was magnificent, he pulled off three world-class saves there. The scoreline is not always a true reflection of the performance, but I was pleased with the way we played and we defended better.
"It’s about getting through pre-season as few injuries as possible, getting your team pattern right and getting fit."
The movement and invention of the side was an element that particularly pleased Glenn, but he is aware that the good work still needs to be translated to the Premiership platform.
"If we can do that as we step up against higher opposition and get the defensive side right then we’ll be on the right lines for what I’m looking for.
"You can’t be judged in pre-season if it’s going poorly for you, or if it’s going well. You’ve got to be realistic and just think of it as a start for me after last season when I just had the young kids to pick."
Glenn explained that not using any substitutes was about assessing the fitness levels of the team over the final phase and seeing which players maintained their concentration and composure.
"We’ve gone through the pre-season with a lot of players playing 45 minutes at a time. We’ve been protecting them early on to avoid injuries and it’s worked quite well.
"Now we are stepping up a gear I want o see who goes through that last 20 minutes when your concentration goes and you’re tired - I was pleased with that aspect of the game as well.
"It was done on purpose and there will be a different team on Saturday to the one that played here."

Glenn confirmed that Teddy Sheringham was absent from the squad with a slight calf strain and is hoping that he will be fit for a return to his former club Millwall on Saturday.
