Glenn eyes Rams

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle witnessed Derby County’s Worthington Cup defeat at Fulham first hand — he now hopes to capitalise on a possible feeling of despondency within a team in transition at the Lane on Monday.

The Rams were beaten 5-2 at Craven Cottage in Colin Todd’s first game in charge following Jim Smith’s surprise departure.

Glenn revealed: “I saw them at Fulham, myself and John went to watch them and to be honest at 1-0 up they were very much in the game.

“Fulham weren’t dictating until the latter periods. It wasn’t really a 5-2 and I’m sure Colin would agree with that.

“But it was a defeat and we have to make sure they come to White Hart Lane maybe feeling sorry for themselves a little and we have to capitalise on that.”

Glenn suggested that Todd would be putting his own ideas forward to help drag Derby out of the drop zone. Currently second from bottom, they have one win in seven starts.

He said: “Colin’s been working with the players under Jim and I’m sure there will be a slight change here and there and players will respond to that. Some will respond differently.”

But Glenn was quick to point out that all that really mattered was how we performed.

“It’s what we do, how we perform, that’s important,” he declared. “If we can get that sort of attitude running through our homes games where it’s about how we perform then that becomes the deciding factor.”
