Glenn delight at Carr start

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn was delighted to see Stephen Carr back in action against Stevenage, but insisted it will be a gradual process in terms of guiding the flying wing-back back to full match fitness.

Carr played the first 45 minutes at Broadhall Way and received the biggest reception from the crowd when his name was announced after missing a whole season through injury.

He did not hold back, was his usual robust self and appeared to suffer no ill effects from his first run-out since last pre-season.

"It's great to see Stevie back, he's had a horrendous year, out for a whole season," said Glenn. "We've had to nurse him through the training recently, but he's up and running now with 45 minutes under his belt and we'll steadily look at that and take him up the ladder as we go.

"He's got to be looked at with a keen eye because we don't want him to pull anything else or his knee to flare up again. It's got to be a very steady and assured route for Steve."

Glenn was also asked afterwards about the possible impact new signing Jamie Redknapp may have on Spurs' fortunes.

"Jamie is in a similar boat, he hasn't played competitive games for some time. On a free transfer coming to us, with his pedigree, we believe we can keep him fit and he can deliver.

"If he can get back to his very best, both physically and mentally, I think Jamie is in for a good few years with us."

Glenn acknowledged the Jamie has endured a difficult couple of seasons with injury, but believes the methods employed with Darren Anderton and Les Ferdinand will benefit the former Liverpool midfielder.

"He has. But we did it with Darren last year, he had similar problems along with Les. There is certain things we've worked on and we'll work on them with Jamie and I'm sure he'll find the benefit from them."
