Glenn back at home

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle reitterated that he felt at home on his first day at Spurs.

It was a frustrating day as he waited for the legal formalities concerning the move from Southampton to be completed and he and assistant John Gorman were only able to observe training but, nevertheless, it was a delighted Glenn who addressed the gathering media after hearing the news that the deal had finally gone through.

Glenn said: "It was just red tape and probably Southampton having a game tonight held it up as well. I've tried to keep myself away from that situation and allowed the two clubs to deal with it. It's all been about patience but now it's all done I'm delighted.

"I feel very much at home here. People keep saying 'welcome home'. Normally when you start a new job there are a few butterflies in the stomach but I haven't felt one little thing like that.

"I just couldn't wait to meet the players, talk to the staff and start preparing for the big game on Sunday. It's all about that now. I feel totally at home."

Glenn insisted that preparations for Sunday's semi-final against Arsenal would not be affected by Monday's events.

"We've enough time this week to prepare," he declared. "These things happen in life and you have to deal with them. It won't set anything back. A lot of players played on Saturday anyway, they are a little stiff and we couldn't overdo it."

Meanwhile, there was some positive news regarding Sol Campbell's fitness.

Big Sol missed out at Highbury on Saturday alongside the likes of Ledley King, Sergei Rebrov and ever-improving Stephen Carr, Tim Sherwood and Oyvind Leonhardsen.

Glenn revealed: "I have talked to Sol. He's in a positive mind about his injury but it's going to be touch and go. The rest of our conversation will remain private."
