George's reaction

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

George Graham could only sit back and admire Manchester United's first-half performance on Saturday.

"I think they were irresistible. Everyone knows about their movement and passing, everyone accepts they are one of the best in the country at that but what I like about them just as much is when the opposition has the ball.

"They closed us down, wouldn't let us play and totally dominated the first half.

"Having said that, it was sad that we conceded a goal just before half time. In the second half I thought we did 100 per cent better, kept the ball, but still didn't look like we had a cutting edge."

The second half was a marked improvement and we showed more belief as we at least shared possession with United and caused a couple of stirs in their area.

"I just wanted the boys to go out and express themselves and not play with any fear because it's quite an occasion to come to Old Trafford and play in front of a full house.

"I don't think it was expected for us to come up here and win, but I liked the way we finished the game. We've got a lot of learning to do and we haven't got the quality or United. In the second half I was pleased, but we'll have to put it right at Bradford next week.

"It was a great education for both Ledley King and Alton Thelwell. They've come in out of the blue and it's great for the club. We had five homegrown players out there, almost half the team was domestic, so that was nice as well."

For the record, those homegrown players are King, Thelwell, Stephen Carr, Stephen Clemence and Sol Campbell.
