George in the market

English Barclays Premiership

George Graham insisted that he still wants to strengthen his squad at the Lane after Tuesday night's friendly win at Peterborough United.

Quizzed if had any further transfer targets in mind at the post-match press conference, the boss said: "I would like a few more in but what you would like to do and what actually happens are two different things. I'm after at least another two players."

Meanwhile, Graham raved about the goals we scored in a 2-1 win against a hard working Posh outfit. Sergei Rebrov emphatically finished a great move for the opener after 48 minutes and Tim Sherwood chipped home delightfully for the second 10 minutes later.

"They were two class goals, fabulous goals," he enthused. "I just hope we can save some of that quality for the Premiership.

"It was good to get a very competitive game. In the first half I thought Peterborough played very well. They were very tight, compact and closed us down early. We wanted to play a nice passing game but credit to Peterborough, they were superb.

"In the second half we could have scored a few more but then conceded with a silly mistake in the last minute. Overall, I was delighted to get a competitive game in rather than just strolling around. It's not realistic then.

"I can see an improvement and that's why we've played teams like Birmingham, Fulham and QPR, they have a lot to play for. It was the same against Peterborough.

"We're playing more like a team now and I'm very pleased about that, especially as all the games have been away from home and you've got to play as a unit. We've done that."
