George: Al's one of the best
English Barclays Premiership
George Graham reckons Alan Curbishley is one of the best in the business.
Curbishley was widely acclaimed for initially leading Charlton into the Premiership in 1998 and having lost that top flight status, the way they bounced back last season.
Spurs boss Graham declared: "Charlton have one of the best young managers in the game in Alan Curbishley. He has done a fantastic job down there.
"I think they are better equipped this time for the Premiership than they were a couple of years ago. He's put right what they needed to put right. I saw them against Arsenal and they were very exciting."
Nevertheless, Graham will look to add to a somewhat sticky patch for the Addicks who haven't won since hammering Manchester City 4-0 on the opening day.
By contrast, we moved into fifth after beating West Ham on Monday. "Local derbies are usually closely contested and physical and if you get quality football it's a bonus," he added. "The important thing, especially in London, is to get results.
"There are so many good sides in London if you manage to win the majority of the derbies, you would be in a good position in the league. We've got to try and get the points in the bag.
"I think as regards the quality of our football there is still more to come. Looking at the first month of the season I would think the majority of clubs, perhaps with the exception of Manchester United, will all be thinking the same - still room for improvement here and there. But while you are doing that you still have to pick up the points."
