Gareth's target

Gareth Bale says it's key to maintain our fine form when QPR visit White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Last weekend's outstanding display and 3-1 win against Reading was followed by another impressive performance against Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Unfortunately, that performance didn't get the result it deserved as the Italians held out for a goalless draw.

Now the flying winger is targeting QPR - he scored twice in a 3-1 win against Rangers last term - and back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

"We want to build on our win against Reading and take our form into the next game, which is QPR," he said. "It’s important we get the win and keep that run going in the Premier League."

Gareth agreed with Andre Villas-Boas and his team-mates that we deserved maximum points against Lazio.

We had three goals disallowed, had nine efforts on goal to Lazio's one and 59 per cent of possession but the win eluded us on Matchday One of six.

"Lazio are right up there in Serie A, so it was a good performance," he added. "We were unlucky not to get a couple of goals, so that was disappointing, but we’ll take the positives into QPR."
