Gardner feeling fine

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Anthony Gardner reported that he 'felt good' in completing 70 minutes for the reserves against Ipswich on Monday evening following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The elegant central defender suffered the injury against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of February and, after a week of training with the ball, took his first steps towards a senior return in the 1-1 draw at Stevenage.

After two months on the sidelines however, he did admit to puffing and blowing slightly in what was a highly-competitive encounter against the Suffolk outfit.

"A little bit, I thought I could have gone on a little bit more but it was agreed before with the manager that I would play for just 65-70 minutes," said Anthony.

"I felt good, a little bit of stiffness, but that is to be expected."

Anthony added that he carried no fears of breaking down after sustaining what was a nasty hamstring tear.

"It was, but a good job was done with the treatment and rehabilitation. I wanted to play and tested it out before, but this was a competitive game and it felt good.

"I started training with ball in the group last week and the week before I was running."

With a clutch of first games remaining before the end of the current campaign, Anthony is hoping that his welcome ability to quickly get back into his stride after injury will see him feature before the season is out.

"When I come back from injury I tend to get back in the swing of things fairly quickly. Most of the time after an injury there are games around the corner for me to look forward to.

"There are a few before the end of the season so hopefully I can get myself in a fit enough condition to be considered for a place."
