Gardner confident

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Anthony Gardner reports that he is confident of being fit for selection ahead of the trip to Leeds United on Saturday.

The central defender missed the win over Birmingham on Wednesday with a thigh problem he picked up during the FA Cup victory over Crystal Palace last weekend but hopes to resume full training today and make himself available for the game at Elland Road.

"I had a problem in the first half against Palace with my thigh, I felt a bit of a strain when I kicked the ball," revealed Anthony. After the game it was a bit sore so I had a scan which showed there was a bit of bleeding in the muscle.

"I didn't train for a couple of days as a precaution, but I've done some jogging and ball work and hopefully I can train on Friday and be part of the squad for Saturday. I'm very confident of being fit and hopefully I can be involved."

The Birmingham game was only the second game Anthony has been absent for this season after enduring several fragmented campaigns due to injury.

"It's been good for me, I missed the Bolton game with a hamstring strain which was just a couple of days and there has been nothing long term."

Reserve midfielder David Galbraith, 20, has been released by the club - we wish him well for the future.
