Jurgen Klinsmann was back at Spurs on Tuesday as the USA squad used our training facilities at Hotspur Way as part of their preparations for this week's friendlies against Colombia and the Republic of Ireland.

Our legendary former striker - who lit up the Lane in 1994-95 before returning in the 1997-98 season - has been Head Coach of the US Men's National Team since July, 2011 and led them to the last 16 of the World Cup in Brazil this summer, qualifying out of their group ahead of Portugal and Ghana.

Jurgen scored 38 goals in 68 appearances for us in all competitions and 29 in his first spell, when he formed a lethal partnership with Teddy Sheringham.

They scored over 50 goals between them in 1994-95 as we reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Jurgen was named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

Jurgen returned after a brief spell at Sampdoria for the second half of the 1997-98 campaign and famously hit four goals in a 6-2 win at Wimbledon in May, 1998 that helped stave off any lingering threat of relegation that season.

Jurgen was re-united with his team-mate and skipper at Spurs in both spells, Gary Mabbutt, who greeted him at the Training Centre on Tuesday. The pair played the final club matches of their careers together when we faced Southampton on the final day of the 1997-98 season.
