Fulham U21s 5-3 Spurs - Ramsey's reaction
13 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Chris Ramsey was left to rue individual errors as our Under-21s stirring comeback was wrestled back by Fulham in the Barclays U21 Premier League on Friday night.
We looked down and out trailing 3-0 at half-time at Motspur Park, but mustered a response full of character in the second half.
Dominic Ball started the wheels in motion, Kenny McEvoy lashed home for 3-2 and Shaq Coulthirst’s flying header made it 3-3 with 22 minutes left for play.
Unfortunately, just as momentum was swinging, Giancarlo Gallifuoco was adjudged to have brought down Ronny Minkwitz and Muamer Tankovic slotted home his hat-trick goal for 4-3 on 74 minutes. Fulham put the issue beyond doublt with a fifth goal on the break in injury time.
“We were the masters of our own downfall in the first half with some poor goals conceded,” said Chris, our Senior Professional Phase Coach.
“We kept playing, created a couple of chances and the players responded superbly to the team talk at half-time in the second half.
“Unfortunately, we then picked up again where we left off in the first half by conceding through another individual error.
“We just needed a foothold in the game for a few minutes, because we were getting stronger.
“It’s frustrating, because they haven’t carved us open, we haven’t been outplayed, just individual errors that are not acceptable really, especially if these lads want to go out on loan.
“The lads will learn from it and it’s disappointing, because we played some good stuff.”
