Fry's Posh delight

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Peterborough manager Barry Fry was delighted with his team's performance in the friendly at London Road and took particular satisfaction with the opening period in which his team enjoyed the better of the play.

After falling a goal behind, Spurs hit back with three goals in nine minutes before the break and effectively finished the game as a contest.

"I enjoyed the game, particularly the first 25 minutes where I thought we completely dominated and played some great football," beamed Fry.

"We missed a lot of chances and, I think, with their first shot they scored. Then, with their next two they scored. I was a bit baffled to go in 3-1 down at half-time because I thought we played quite well.

"It was a great experience, they played some great football and so did we."

Fry paid tribute to the performance of Anthony Gardner and couldn't hide his delight that Matthew Etherington scored on his return to his former club.

"Their centre-half was outstanding, absolutely magnificent, he broke up a lot of our play. I think he did his hamstring, which is a shame because he was outstanding.

"I was pleased Mushy (Etherington) returned and scored. He tucked it away well and I'm delighted for him. Delighted with the crowd, over 4,000, terrific. They came out and got a bit of entertainment.

"I was a delightful night and I think both sides played some good entertaining football."
