From Blues to good news

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

All in all, a good night at the office for Colin Calderwood.

That looked the last possible conclusion after his reserve team fell to a 2-0 deficit against Chelsea at Stevenage Borough.

But a shake-up at half-time and greatly-improved second half display was capped when first young substitute Danny Foster and then John Jackson's cracker earned us a 2-2 draw.

Add Chris Armstrong's successful return after a 15-month injury absence and a full 90 minutes for Gary Doherty, Stephen Clemence and Oyvind Leonhardsen and there were a few more smiles than apparant after Chelsea had taken a 2-0 lead.

"I thought it was a fairly even start but then Chelsea got on top of us for 20 minutes," reflected Colin.

"It was disappointing. We dominated and we showed little willingness to get ourselves back into it.

"But the second half was much better. We did the basics right and once we got the goal back you could see the improvement."

Colin was delighted with the senior lads on show. "Gary Doherty is progressing from his first game back," he added.

"His timing is coming back and he wanted the ball. He was important for us out there. He's only young but he has experience and he's a leader.

"Chris got his 45 minutes, so we're all pleased about that, Stevie

Clemence will always give everything and wants to close down so much he

gets frustrated sometimes and Leo managed 90 minutes.

"Some of the younger boys did well as well. All in all, it was a pretty good night after the first half."
