Freund counting the hours to return

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Steffen Freund admits he's dreamt of the moment that he'll walk out at White Hart Lane again - he's only days away from doing just that.

The popular German is expected to take his place in the Leicester City midfield in Sunday's televised Premiership clash.

Steffen returned to England from Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern in the January transfer window having left the Lane last summer after four years and 131 appearances.

There is no doubting that he forged a special bond with the crowd in his time at the club and now he's set to return.

"I'm really happy to be back in the Premiership and one of the best things is that I will be able to go back to White Hart Lane, to see all the Spurs supporters and my friends in the team and at the club," said Steffen. "I've dreamt about this moment."

Steffen admits he had few doubts when Leicester came in for him last month.

"I had the chance to move," he explained. "I asked the club if it was possible to go because I could have gone on at Kaiserslautern, I had two years left there.

"For me, I wanted to finish my career in a different way and, if possible, in the Premiership. Leicester came in with an offer and it was perfect for me, I couldn't wait to sign and come back and play in the Premiership."

And what a welcome - as he stepped into the dressing room at the Foxes' training ground he was met by three of his former team-mates in Les Ferdinand, Ian Walker and Ben Thatcher.

"It was one of the reasons why I went to Leicester," he added. "We didn't need to talk for a long time, just to make the offer and I said I would go.

"It's perfect to see the old faces in the team, like Les, Ian and Ben. It's important for me to settle quickly and that has helped. After two weeks, I can already say I'm really enjoying it at Leicester."
