French toast!

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our Academy side triumphed in the Angers International Youth Tournament in France on Sunday.

They lifted the trophy with a 1-0 win against Swedish outfit Gothenburg thanks to Radwan Hamed's early goal.

It was Hamed's (pictured left) fourth goal in four games as the lads completed the tournament in Nantes with four wins out of four against Cannes of France, African team Bamako and Fiorentina of Italy.

Andy Barcham and Jamie O'Hara both contributed three goals.

Coach Pat Holland was naturally delighted. "We were one of the youngest squads in the tournament and I'm really pleased for the lads, they applied themselves superbly throughout."

He took up the story of the final. "We took the lead after about three minutes. Radwan latched onto a ball over the top, hit it first time and it went through the goalkeeper. It was an ideal start for us.

"It was a strange game in many ways because Gothenburg then had plenty of possession but never really threatened us. I also have to give credit to the lads for defending ever so well.

"At the same time, we looked dangerous every time we got behind them and we missed a couple of great chances including a one-on-one and a three-on-one situation where we should really have scored.

"Right at the end they were throwing everything at us and they decided to send their goalkeeper up for the last free-kick. He's about six foot four and as he ran up, I shouted at Richard Heller to get back. Richard's about five foot six but ended up marking him! Thankfully, it came to nothing and we held on and won it."

Spurs: Forecast, Riley, Daniels, Lee, Mills, Lewis, McKenna, O'Hara, Maghoma, Hamed (Heller, 40), Barcham. Unused subs: Button, Kyriacou, Peprah, Lake.
