Fredi eyes the finishing line
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Fredi Kanoute believes Saturday's clash with Middlesbrough will be his biggest game since arriving in English football.
The reason for this is the prize on offer should we finish the season stronger than Boro, Manchester City and maybe even Bolton Wanderers - a UEFA Cup place for finishing in the top six or seven of the Barclays Premiership.
"It is because we are playing for something," said the striker who set us on our way to the 5-1 win over Aston Villa last Sunday. "If we finish well we can get into Europe, I haven't played in Europe since I've been in England and if we make it it will be my best year.
"The team is quite confident, we have been for a while and are playing well. In this second part of the season we have been one of the best teams."
However, Fredi expects no easy pickings from a Boro side who have come into a bit of form themselves and are unbeaten in their last four.
"They are quite experienced and it will be very hard. They are very strong, but we are a young team who move well on and off the ball. If we don't sit back and wait for them we can get something.
"We really needed the three points but we know it will be hard at Middlesbrough. If we can get at least one point - although I think we can win - as you never know away from home, then we can look towards getting three points in our last game."
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Fredi is currently revelling in his new role within the team.
"Yes I am the old man. It is good because I am still young and the old man of the side. I think we are young and talented people!"
