Foundation take part in Premier League and BT’s Disability 'Festival of Sport'

13 July 2017|Tottenham Hotspur

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation took local students from Vale School in Northumberland Park to a special ‘Festival of Sport’ event at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, to celebrate the first successful year of the Premier League and BT’s Disability programme.

The programme has helped the Foundation by providing funding to deliver a series of projects in the Club’s local communities, aimed at creating opportunities for people with disabilities, giving them access to more talent pathways and inspiring them through sport.

The festival, hosted by BT presenters Abi Griffiths and Jake Humphrey, saw participants from 20 clubs take part in a range of different sports, including athletics, boccia and basketball, developing their own skills throughout the event by recording their best times and results at each sports station.

Since the Premier League and BT Disability programme was launched at the London Stadium last September clubs have engaged over 10,000 disabled people and 27% of those taking part in club sessions have been female.
