Forest vs Spurs (FAYC) - Kieran's preview

Kieran McKenna has called for our youngsters to replicate their positive home performances in the FA Youth Cup on the road in our quarter-final trip to Nottingham Forest.
We travel to the City Ground on Wednesday having seen off Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers in home ties – played at Dagenham & Redbridge – in the early stages of the competition, before defeating Manchester United at White Hart Lane last week in the fifth round.
Our clash with Forest therefore represents our first away tie in this season’s competition, with Under-18s Coach Kieran looking for another positive collective showing.
“It’s pleasing, in a way, to get a game away from home because it’s all part of the experience of playing cup football,” he said.
“The chance to play at Nottingham Forest’s main stadium – the City Ground – is something the boys are looking forward to, although I don’t expect the fact that the game is away from home to have a big bearing on our performance.
“Forest have always had a proud tradition, their teams always tend to do well in the Youth Cup and they’ve had a good record of getting players through to the first team as well.
“I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to the game and for us it will certainly be a big challenge.
“The beauty of the FA Youth Cup is that it’s a knockout competition and every game is a pressurised situation but the boys have reacted very well to that so far, so hopefully they can do the same again on Wednesday.”
Kick-off will be at 7pm. Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates from the game.
