Follow that Carr

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege wants to follow Stephen Carr's lead by becoming a fixture in the side again after long-term injury.

Stand-in skipper Steve missed almost 18 months of football - including the World Cup with Ireland in 2002 - with a serious knee injury.

He suffered again when he pulled a hamstring at Everton on his comeback but has now played every game - 47 in total - since his return against Bolton on October 20 last year.

But it's been a year to forget for Christian. He returned from the horror thigh injury he sustained on Boxing Day 2002 on the final day of last season but suffered problems again in pre-season, returned again against West Ham in the Carling Cup only to suffer a knee injury that will keep him out until next year.

"This year has been more of a gym year than a playing year," reflected a frustrated, but positive-thinking Christian at Spurs Lodge.

"I'm tired of it now. I hope it's the last time for a long time. I don't mind little injuries where you go in, get it right and come back but this has been a long time.

"I have to say the club has been fantastic, the support and the patience they've had. It's not easy.

"I want to come through this injury, get back out there and give everything back.

"A good example is Stephen Carr. He was out for a whole year but he's back now, playing every game. I want to do the same thing."
