February Half-Term’s soccer schools proved a big success as young players met their heroes.
Meet the Players
Young players were all smiles at Spurs Soccer Schools this half-term, as they got the chance to meet Nabil Bentaleb, Emmanuel Adebayor, Zeki Fryers and Paulinho.
Courses were sold out, with the opportunity to meet the players the centrepiece of an action-packed week of coaching.
Paulinho and Zeki visited our excited young players at Brentwood school in Essex, while Ade and Nabil starred at Haileybury College in Herts.
The Juniors loved their Q&A session, and the chance to have an item signed by their heroes – ranging from boots to a packed-lunch box!
Great Prizes
Selected youngsters were lucky enough to win awards including a full Spurs home kit, an Under Armour compression top, tickets to see Spurs, plus medals and trophies.
The Spurs coaches were impressed by what they saw, and one commented: “The standard and attitude to learning from all the kids was excellent! I was lucky enough to train the 5-7 year-olds, and what a group of players they were!”
Bedford School also hosted a sell-out week of action, while Spurs Lodge held its final courses before we switch to our new premier venues. It was a final chance for Juniors to savour playing on the outstanding grass pitches.
Happy Parents
William Macneill, aged seven, attended the Haileybury course, and his Mum Rosaleen summed it all up: “William thoroughly enjoyed himself and I have seen a noticeable improvement in his football. He has come home and tried to put into practise a lot of the training whilst out in the garden. It has made him even more enthusiastic about football and most importantly he had so much fun!” Rosaleen added: “The ethos of the club and the attitude the coaches were trying to instil into the boys was also superb!”
Coaches are now looking ahead to our next programme of courses over the Easter holidays.
