Fast start key - Daws
Michael Dawson feels a fast start is vital in Sunday's FA Cup fourth round tie at Leeds.
The captain and centre-back is looking for a repeat of our third round win against Coventry City at the Lane when we step out for a 2pm kick-off at Elland Road.
Early goals that day from Clint Dempsey and Gareth Bale settled any nerves and when Clint struck again before half-time, at 3-0 it was all over.
"We all sat in the changing room that day saying we had to be ready, had to be out of the starting blocks quickly and to then make sure we take our chances," said Michael.
"Away from home at Elland Road, I’m sure we’ll have to weather a storm in the first 15 minutes and then hopefully our quality will come through."
Michael has experienced disappointment in the FA Cup with semi-final defeats against Portsmouth in 2010 and Chelsea last year.
One of our longest-serving players, he would love to be there again in May.
"The FA Cup is a special competition," he added. "We’ve had some good runs, been to Wembley twice, but both unfortunate experiences against Portsmouth and Chelsea.
"We want to win trophies, as players and as a team. To win the FA Cup would certainly be special, but that's a long way off. We don’t get carried away.
"Every player will say the same as me, the FA Cup is massive for us, we want to go all the way and it would be a dream come true to do that."
