Farewell Johnny Wallis

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Bill Nicholson and many of our ex-players said farewell to friend and former colleague Johnny Wallis at his funeral in Enfield this afternoon.

Johnny was associated with the club from 1936 until his retirement in 1994, initially as a player and then as a valued member of our backroom staff.

In attendance at his service were former players including Dave Mackay, Martin Chivers, Cliff Jones, Tommy Harmer, Ralph Coates, Pat Jennings, John Pratt and Steve Perryman. A number of the club's staff were also present, along with Chris Hughton and John Gorman.

Johnny passed away at the North Middlesex Hospital, Edmonton on February 25, 2003. He is survived by his wife Connie and brother Peter.
