Fantastic win - Harry

Harry Redknapp insisted we deserved our 2-1 win at Stoke City on Saturday.

Harry Redknapp insisted we deserved our 2-1 win at Stoke City on Saturday.

A typically tough encounter at the Britannia Stadium ended in some controversy as Stoke claimed Jonathan Walters' last-minute header had crossed the line as Peter Crouch cleared.

However, referee Mr Foy, well-placed only yards away, did not award the goal and we held on for a big away win in the Barclays Premier League.

Gareth Bale's double secured the points - his second goal worthy of winning any match on any stage, a full volley from shoulder high angled into the top corner.

"We deserved to win," said boss Harry afterwards.

"In the first half, we passed it unbelievably. They couldn't get near us.

"Tom Huddlestone had control of the game, we passed it in midfield and it was a fantastic second goal from Gareth.

"If anything, we should have gone in further ahead, I thought we should have scored just before half-time.

"You know you are going to come under pressure here, that's the way they play.

"The ball will come into the box in the second half, especially if you are 2-1 up. You know that and you have to deal with it.

"You will get scrambles if the ball keeps coming into your box enough times and you have to keep trying to get it away.

"You will be under pressure, it's difficult not to be and we knew that would happen.

"Stoke work their socks off and Tony (Pulis) gets the best out of his players every week. They never give you an easy game and there won't be many teams who come here and win this season.

"It's a tough place to come and win and a fantastic win for us."
