Fantastic response to the New Disability Initiatives

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The club has received an excellent response after setting up adult football training sessions for people who are Deaf or Hearing Impaired.

Training sessions kicked-off at the Lane on Friday, organised by James Isaac, the Community Scheme Disability Football Co-ordinator.

The scheme has become more aware that there are many talented footballers that are Deaf or Hearing Impaired.

To complement the established Deaf Football Clubs around the UK the Scheme are developing regular training sessions. Once the sessions have been established the Scheme can offer the participants expertise in coaching and advice on how to develop their carers within the game. We have also employed part-time coaches who are able to use British Sign Language to help with communication difficulties when coaching children and adults who are Deaf / Hearing Impaired.

James is looking forward to today’s first training session and said: "I am very pleased with the excellent response that we have had towards the adult Deaf / Hearing Impaired football training session. I look forward to supporting the participants and moving their carers forward within football."

If you would like further information on the courses, email James Isaac at or telephone on 020 8365 5028.
