Familiar foe for Gylfi

Gylfi Sigurdsson feels hard work is key to a positive result against Swansea.

The Iceland midfielder knows the Swans better than most having played 19 times for them during a loan spell last season.

He scored seven times in that spell - including a goal at the Lane - and now faces the Welsh team for the first time since his summer switch to Spurs from Hoffenheim.

Gylfi talks about his time at the Liberty and how much he's enjoying life at the Lane in the main interview in Sunday's official matchday programme.

"I was at Swansea for five months last season and I really enjoyed my time," said Gylfi.

"They have added quite a few new faces to the squad since last season and have obviously changed the manager, but they continue to do well. It will be strange to play against them, but I’m looking forward to it, if I’m involved.

"Everyone knows when you play against them, you are going to have to work hard otherwise you won’t see much of the ball.

"It is a philosophy that has been maintained by successive managers over the past few years and now Michael Laudrup is carrying it on this season. It works for them and we know it is going to be a difficult game.

"Last week's defeat (at Everton) was tough to take, we were all disappointed, but we've had a week to recover and we're all focused on the next game."
