Expectations are higher now - Christian

Christian Eriksen realises he's a marked man these days in the Premier League.

The Danish international played a key role in our 2-1 victory at Hull on Sunday.

He struck the post from a free-kick to allow Harry Kane to sweep home the rebound for the equaliser before drilling home the winner in the last minute.

That was his fourth goal in 12 appearances in the Premier League this term.

Christian scored 10 goals in all competitions in his debut season in 2013-14 and contributed seven goals and eight assists in the Premier League.

With that record, it’s no surprise opposing teams have pinpointed Christian for closer attention this time around.

Indeed, all-time Danish great Brian Laudrup told us recently: “In Denmark I was asked about his second season and I said that I felt it was going to be difficult for him. The second season it always very difficult as the other teams know about your qualities. It’s going to be a tough season but he’s a very talented player.”

Christian agreed. “Expectations are higher, everyone knows me now and it’s different this season.

“But I still see the possibilities and see the spaces available on the pitch. There will always be some chances and luckily, I scored at Hull.

"That was probably my most important goal so far.

“Hopefully I’ll keep getting the chances and I’ll try to take them when they come along. It’s always good to score goals and to help the team.”
