Every game a learning curve - Eric
09 April 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Enjoyment and learning – two key words for Eric Dier’s debut season at Spurs.
The versatile defender, still only 21, joined us from Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has thoroughly played his part as we enter the final lap of the campaign.
Eric has made 29 appearances in all competitions including 18 starts in the Premier League, the latest a clean sheet at Burnley on Sunday.
“I’m really enjoying playing as many games as I have so far,” said Eric, who announced himself as a Spurs player with a last-minute winner at West Ham and a debut home goal against QPR in August.
“This is still my first season in English football so everything is a learning curve for me. I feel that I’m learning in every game I play and going to places like Old Trafford and Turf Moor are two extremes that I’ve not experienced before, so I need to take things away from all of these matches.
“I’m still young and I know I will make mistakes here and there but I have to make as few as possible, keep learning and try to get better and better.
“All I want to do is focus on my performances, keep working hard in training and look to keep improving as a player.
“I feel I’ve a lot more improvement to make before I reach my full potential but playing in the Premier League should certainly help me achieve that.”
