Evaluate, and go again

10 August 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies admitted 'everyone is down' but took plenty of positives home from Old Trafford.

The full-back lined-up on opening day and played his part as we restricted United to one shot on target.

Unfortunately, Kyle Walker's own goal handed Louis van Gaal's team the points as United were forced to hang on as we piled on the pressure in the latter stages - Sergio Romero saving well twice from Christian Eriksen and once from Harry Kane.

"I think you’ve got to look at the positives from a situation like this," said Ben.

"We kept the ball well, we could have got forward a bit quicker but we were never out of control of the game and we just couldn’t seem to find pass or strike to get a goal.

"We put the effort in and restricted them to a few chances. The goal was one of our mistakes, not them beating us with a bit of skill.

"We were solid defensively, dealt with crosses coming in and the threat that was in front of us.

"Everyone is down. We’ll have a day or two to evaluate and then it’s back to the training ground."
