Erik targets Derby return
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Erik Edman is hoping to feature in his first North London Derby after coming through an hour for the reserves against Watford following his absence with concussion.
The Swedish international has been out of action since a clash of heads up at Everton at the beginning of October and has missed the last six games.
His return at Vicarage Road will be a welcome one for Martin Jol who is currently without the left-sided services of Goran Bunjevcevic and Thimothee Atouba.
With Erik having been able to do very little for over a month, he reported that his comeback was more about getting used to playing again rather than worrying about his head.
"I felt 'alright', I am not really satisfied but it was a case of getting used to the ball again, getting used to positions and getting used to the game," he reflected.
"I am quite pleased, I knew it would be a hard game but, after five weeks, I am happy.
"There are no problems with the concussion - I headed the ball three or four times. I wasn't worried about heading the ball, I knew what to expect."
We certainly appear to have missed Erik, having suffered four Premiership defeats during his spell out, but he predicts an about-turn in fortunes.
"It is because of me!" he joked. "No, we have been struggling a bit but I think we played well against Charlton in the second half and deserved a point. Against Burnley we played really well and want to carry that on."
Now the target for the player who is 26-years-old today is a place in the team on Saturday.
"It is the greatest game you can play in for this club, I think, especially at home. To be honest, I have not really played in a game similar to this before. Playing Ajax when you are at Heerenveen is tough, but this will be extra."
