Erik ready for battle
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Erik Edman is fully aware the battle is on with Thimothee Atouba for the left-back spot in the team.
Thimothee's minor knee injury let Erik in for his first start since the ill-fated defeat at Bolton - where he was penalised somewhat harshly for handball and Bolton netted the penalty - and the Swedish international looked pumped up for it in Saturday's 2-0 win against Fulham.
"I wanted to make a good impression," reflected Erik. "We kept a clean sheet so that's a good start for us and for me as well.
"I felt I played okay. The first half I wasn't so comfortable on the ball but the second half was good. The longer it went I felt I played better and better and I hope I now get the chance at Forest on Wednesday.
"It's a good competition with Thimothee, he's a good player so I have to keep focused."
Erik admits he wasn't at his best in the games prior to Thimothee getting the nod ahead of him in the replay against West Brom.
"I got injured, came back and then had three poor games against West Brom in the FA Cup, Crystal Palace and Bolton and I ended up on the bench," said Erik.
"Now I'm fighting for my spot again. We have a lot of quality in the squad, strength in depth and it makes everyone sharp when you see what we have on the bench."
